Educational Outreach
- At My Sister My Friend BCS education and awareness is catalyst to finding breast cancer early.
- Studies reveal African American women are disportionately diagnosed with the disease at later
- stages. Increasing the need for aggressive treatments while decreasing life expectancy and
- overall recovery rates. For better outcomes we have and will continue our partnerships with
- other community groups and healthcare professionals for screenings and follow-up of lay and
- symptomatic women of such vulnerable populations throughout Los Angeles and San Bernandino Counties. Our partnered educational outreach events include a variety of professionals from breast health disciplines:
- Dennis Holmes, MD, Chief Breast Surgeon at the Los Angeles Center for Women's Health
- Robina Smith, MD Breast Surgeon - St Jude Medical Group in Fullerton, CA
- Terri Softley, MD
- Rebecca Alleyne, MD Breast Surgeon - St Mary Medical Center, Long Beach, CA
- Mary Simms, PhD Survivor/ Founder of Family Outreach Counseling Center, Long Beach, CA
